Tama Daruma has been made since the Edo period (the time of Ansei) as a lucky charm for folic acid and prosperous business, and is still sold in Dharma cities such as Jindaiji Temple.
  
 Most of the Tama Daruma dolls have become vacuum-formed, and now they are very valuable hand-made Daruma dolls.
 Toshio Negishi, who is 92 years old, puts Japanese paper on each wooden pattern and draws with a brush.
 Mr. Negishi says, "I'm clumsy." That clumsiness gives birth to a lovely doll.
